Body Awareness

Body awareness is the mental picture of one’s own body. This includes knowing where the trunk and limbs are, how they interrelate, and how they move. Body awareness is necessary for moving the body in a coordinated way. Games like Simon Says, Hopscotch, and the Hokey Pokey can help improve body awareness. For children with poor body awareness, practicing new skills in front of a mirror may help so they can see what their body is doing.

If your child struggles with coordinating new movements, reach out to our team for a consult!
